Binjal is a policy researcher and former journalist focused on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and contributes to CEEP’s work at the intersection of gender, land, labour and just energy transition. She has worked at the grassroots level on gender mainstreaming across thematic areas like water security, energy transition, sanitation, farm mechanisation and access to social protection. Her articles on feminist issues, current affairs and socio-political movements have appeared in publications like The Hindu, Outlook, HuffPost India, Newslaundry, The News Minute, etc. She holds postgraduate degrees in urban policy and governance from TISS, Hyderabad and NIUA, and journalism from ACJ, Chennai.
Guided by a strong belief in social justice and affirmative action - and sceptical of institutions - she is drawn to questions of power, ethics, morality, though she’s increasingly convinced that the real answer might be revolution. In her free time, she turns to philosophy and resumes her search for meaning (with limited success so far).
